Forgive our dust!

Yes, yes, watch your step when you come in!

We are proud to say that our blog is going to be under construction soon and VERY soon by Ross + the wonderful team at Flosites! We have a brand new brand/blog which will be due to launch in the next couple months (maybe sooner!) and we will be coming back with loads of news, amazing weddings, super cool shoots, and maybe a few little other fun things… :D Until then, we will not be posting here until the new blog is completed (trust me, you will be glad we waited!) so please stick around, bear with us, and come back. In the meantime, you can add this blog to your Google Reader or RSS feed (see above navigation bar) and you will be sure to be the first to find out when the new stuff goes live!

If you need to contact us at any time, please email me at lauren@laurenkinsey.com!

See you on the flip flop (as Michael says) :)

XOXO and love to you all!

Lauren + Michael Kinsey

{in the genes}

Hey ya’ll! I’m back! We made it through May + June, {by the way, WHERE did June go???} and we have SO much in the works! Sorry for the little blogging hiatus, but I am SO excited to tell you all that I was gone for good reason- Michael + I have begun the long awaited and anticipated process of our awesome new rebrand and super awesome new blog! The genius duo behind this transition is Ross + Jenny from Flosites, and I cannot WAIT for the big reveal in the upcoming weeks!! So bear with me ya’ll, I may not be blogging as often in the next few weeks because there will be lots of technical stuff and construction going on. Lots of fun posts will be posted on the new blog when it debuts! :D :D :D

Onward! A few weeks back, I had the absolute JOY of hanging out with the Ramey family on our {still} beautiful Destin beach {yes folks, they are still gorgeous, no tar here!} This whole family is absolutely adorable and a pants-dropping hoot to hang out with {more on that later ;) } But even more that I can say about this family is that they are totally devoted to each other, completely beautiful souls inside and out. All I can think is, it must be in the genes. :D

And right about now is when things went all sorts of weird. :D I had been told that the guys were all wearing speedos and that we had to take a shot of that. Done and done! :D You guys crack me up.

{the big day} laura + ben • jacksonville, florida

Wow! Wow, wow, wowie. When I arrived at Laura + Ben’s wedding, my jaw was on the ground with all the beautiful details that went into this extra special day. :) Not only was I in awe of off the loveliness of this wedding, but I couldn’t help but think how perfect Ben + Laura are for each other! Well, except for one little thing… Ben is a Gator fan and Laura is a Seminole fan! (I have to throw my 2 cents in here… GO NOLES!!! HAHA, Hey Laura, this may be why we get along so great! :D ) I told Ben I could forgive him for being a Gator, but I had a feeling that we were well outnumbered since Ben’s brother Danny played QB for the Gators! I have a feeling though that they won’t be a “house divided” though, as this truly was a union that was centered in Christ’s love. Thank you Laura + Ben for inviting us to be a part of your day, I know Michael was sorry he missed this one- but my Mom and I had a blast hanging out with you and your wonderful family!

Our heartfelt {thanks} go out to all those who made Ben + Laura’s day so special!

Katie + Brian came all the way from Arizona for their wedding! Katie + I instantly clicked the first time we chatted over the phone about her wedding day, and I knew it was going to be so much fun working with this couple! Katie has got a million dollar smile and is gorgeous to boot; Brian is sophisticated and has a great laugh… together they are a perfect match! I hope you guys had a great time touring Europe (how JEALOUS am I?!?! :D ) and we wish you both all the best in the world!

{christine + matt} • part 2

I knew that Christine + Matt would be perfect for this idea I had brewing in my mind. A shoot inspired by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

“Then followed that beautiful season… Summer….Filled was the air  with a dreamy and magical light . . .”

{christine + matt} • part 1

Christine + Matt are too cute for words. They were the winners of our big free wedding giveaway and they are getting married in 2 weeks!!! Oh my. We can hardly wait!!!
Christine + I have been in cohoots with planning all the details of their upcoming wedding and I am so excited to see how it all comes together. It’s going to be AMAZING on details, this much is true!
But aside from all the foo-foo, Christine + Matt are such sweet and wonderful people. Their love for the Lord and their family shines through and we are so proud to call them friends!
Enjoy Part 1, and then come back for an awesome styled shoot that we did for Part 2!

I cannot say enough about how much fun these 2 are, Christine has an amazing belly laugh and smile and Matt is hysterical, which makes for a lot of pants peeing laughter… we were in stitches the whole time!

{the big day} ginny + jack • seagrove beach, fl

We have been waiting for this wedding for months. Ever since Ginny first contacted me early last year, I knew that we were going to have a friendship that would be unlike any other. We talked about all the details of her wedding, all about Jack- the love of her life, and how excited she was to be marrying him. It wasn’t until we met Jack that I knew exactly what Ginny was talking about- it was so evident in the way he looked at her- how much he loved her and how right they are for each other.

The wedding day started out like any other- with the fresh excitement and energy that comes with every wedding. As Ginny sat getting her makeup done, we looked out at the sky and saw what appeared to be rain clouds rolling in. Ginny had planned on having a ceremony on the beach, and after some discussion with Tammy from the Eventful Planner, the decision was made to move the ceremony inside Jack + Ginny’s condo.

I can honestly say that it was the best decision ever made. The ceremony was so sweet and heartfelt, and was totally intimate as Ginny + Jack made their commitment to love each other, everyday, for the rest of their lives. Michael + I were so humbled to be a part of the wedding and we loved being able to spend time with such a loving couple and welcoming family. The best compliment we could receive was when Ginny told me that we were like family, and I couldn’t agree more.

Congratulations to such a beautiful couple, we love ya’ll very much.

And something I haven’t done in awhile- a slideshow. I get teary eyed everytime I watch it. :)

{lasseiz les bons temps rouler}

For those of you who have never been to the South, we have a saying down here, “Lasseiz les bons temps rouler”, which translates to “Let the good times roll!” And the good times were in plentiful supply for Emily + Jeff’s wedding at the Emerald Grande last month (happy 1 month + 1 day anniversary ya’ll! :D )

Emily + Jeff came all the way from Louisiana (oh yeah, a lot of southerners pronounce it as “loo-see-anna”, and yes, I had to spell check this a couple times just make sure I didn’t leave out an “I”… Paula Deen would be so proud) :) for their wedding and we could not have been more excited to spend the day with this incredibly sweet couple.

Emily + Jeff, thank you so much for hanging out with us and humoring me on all my ridiculous ideas (“hey Jeff, pick Emily up and swing her around on the 2 foot wide dock WITHOUT losing your balance!”)

{melinda + terrence}

Melinda + Terrence are two of the kindest, most genuine people I know. We had not had the pleasure of meeting them prior to the wedding day, but as soon as we arrived at the home of Terrence’s family, they welcomed us with open arms. The wedding was held on an amazingly beautiful day in Destin, Florida, and we could not have been more pleased with the results. Melinda + Terrence, thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to work with you on your wedding, and we wish you a lifetime of happiness together!

{bust a move}

Whew….Over the last 3 weeks, we have photographed 4 weddings, 2 loveshoots, 3 portraits… and a partridge in a pear tree! Needless to say, we have been on the move constantly and I wanted to show you a little peek at what is come over the next couple weeks once all the madness from May’s weddings slow down! :D

First up is Melinda + Terrence’s backyard wedding in Destin Florida. Everything about this simple wedding was charming and I am excited to post these images. :)

Next up, Emily + Jeff’s wedding at the Emerald Grande in Destin! They came all the way from Loo-see-anna ;) for their wedding, and you KNOW we added some cajun flair.

Moving right along to Ginny+Jack’s Seagrove beach wedding. You might remember them from their loveshoot? Oh yes. :D Bad weather forced this wedding inside but it didn’t put a damper on our plans, love everything about this one.

The next day we shot Christine + Matt’s adorable loveshoot, and this one will be coming to you in TWO PARTS! Christine + Matt were our free wedding winners for the year and after Christine + I have been conspiring on all the details of the wedding, it’s sure to be a dilly! :D

Part I:

And then Part II, I’m am SO RIDICULOUSLY excited about this shoot, well…. you’ll just have to see for yourself.

And last but certainly not least, Katie + Brian’s wedding in Palm Coast. This couple was so amazingly sweet and fun to hang out with! Here’s a little taste:

Wow. I’m exhausted. ;) See? Lots to come. :D
